How to Restore Headlights With Toothpaste
As a temporary solution to fix oxidised headlights, you can use toothpaste.
It’s super cheap and simple.
- Toothpaste – You need toothpaste that is not a gel and has little bits in it that makes it gritty. If you don’t have a toothpaste like that, you can add a bit of baking soda to it to make it gritty.
- Warm Water
- Paper towel/Microfiber Cloth
Step 1. Apply toothpaste
Take plenty of toothpaste and rub it into the headlight with your hand.
Apply a decent amount of pressure to really get it in there.
Step 2. Wash the headlight
After you’ve rubbed the toothpaste in, wash it off with warm water and a paper towel or microfiber cloth.
Step 3. Repeat
If your light isn’t as clear as you want it to be. Repeat the process as many times as you like.
Step 4: Wax
This step is optional but it’s good to use wax to prevent the light from oxidising quickly.
Using a wax of your choice apply it to the headlight in accordance to the instructions.
Please note that this is only a cheap, quick fix and not meant to be a permanent solution.
